Whether it’s introducing a new CEO to their business colleagues in the area, hosting a small dinner for a new arrival and their spouse or bringing hundreds of CEOs together to meet, share and learn, it all comes down to one simple truth – creating an environment where everyone can thrive has its own rewards.
Connecting people is more than a simple tagline. It’s at the heart of our mission statement. Nothing is more satisfying than helping to make that next important connection, helping to build that enduring bond and seeing friends and colleagues thrive.
Rick: “Growing up, my dad was my mentor. In the simplest ways he demonstrated that doing the right thing brings out the best in everyone. He always picked up the check. He was a natural at being the first to help. And through the years, I witnessed his personal love of giving to others without any expectations. Each day I try to emulate him in everything I do.”
Opening doors, helping people get plugged in and working to help others be successful has its own positive energy.
NC CEO Forum
In 2008, with the economy adrift and the difficulties this created for companies collectively employing hundreds of thousands of people, North Carolina CEOs wanted to get a pulse on what was happening at other companies throughout the state. These leaders wanted to hear from other CEOs and government officials as to how each was adjusting to the dramatic shifts and changes taking place in industry.
This became the foundational thinking behind the creation of the NC CEO Forum. By bringing these business leaders together, the NC CEO Forum flourished instantly. The conference has quickly become a “by invitation only” event, hosting government leaders and CEOs and their leadership teams to a day and a half of executive-level networking and insightful presentations and discussions.
With insights into what’s happening on the national and international scene, along with what is taking place in our own backyard, the NC CEO Forum’s intent is to contribute to North Carolina’s growth in jobs and making our state a rich and rewarding place to live, work and do business.
As a way of giving back to our community, The NC CEO Forum commits all of its proceeds to benefit the Make-A-Wish® Eastern North Carolina. The Forum also wants to give attention and thanks to our Friends of the Forum nonprofits: Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), NC Arts in Action, NC Center for Nonprofits, NC GreenPower, and Triangle Entrepreneurship Week powered by Forward Triangle, and the Triangle Chapter of the British American Business Council.
